Our Tuesday September 12th meeting has been changed to Brew STX 6:30. We will discuss ways we can assist our neighbors. I have listed a few ways below. So please bring your thoughts to the meeting to share.
Deep End Restaurant is an East End Drop Off Site for relief items. There are bins to separate and deposit items. Send this list info to all your friends. Caribbean Sea Adventures and Reliable Rentals are also accepting goods to be shipped over. The port in Gallows Bay is receiving from 7-5. And, people relocated here will need assistance at the shelters. Canegata Ball Park building is one location.
Items that are needed are:
Bottled water, canned meats and fish, canned veggies, cereal, snacks, canned fruits and beverages.
Deodorant, toothpaste and brushes, bath soap, shampoo,
diapers(adult and infant), gloves, sanitary napkins, paper towels and toilet paper, plastic trash bags, bath towels, wash cloths, bandaids, Neosporin
New and used clothing for adults and children, all ages and sizes. Shoes- tape left and right shoes together.
Or, anything else you think could be useful.
So, clean out your closets, go to the store so we may get relief to our neighbors. Stuff can be dropped off most anytime during the day.
Here are 2 ways to donate money:
1.Pizza Pi VI, the famous pizza boat in St. Thomas is gathering supplies to load a cargo plane. First aid supplies, food, generators, etc. please donate to help cover the costs. Every little bit helps. The people of the USVI are stranded after being hit by the largest category 5 hurricane on record. We need help now. 100% of the funds will go straight to Irma relief. https://www.gofundme.com/us-virgin-islands-irma-relief-fund
2.To make direct monetary donations to St John rescue, Inc a 501(C) nonprofit: http:// www.stjohnrescue.com/ click Donate
Michelle Pugh will be showing us her trip to the Galapagos Islands at a later date.
Cheers, Sarah, your grateful secretary
